Dogs
Townsend first acheived national recognition as a painter of working dogs. The quality of his painting is such that the originals and prints are much sought after.
Townsend was voted Artist of the Year in 1999 by The Fine Art Trade Guild.
Dogs continue to inspire Townsend, and although his work has diversified to include landscapes, seascapes and skyscapes he continues to develop his core subject. The latest release is 'Waiting for Stan' which was launched during Crufts 2007.
